Having been born and raised within the Parish, I have lived in the village for the past 45 years and have been a Parish Councillor for 31 years.

A retired Chartered Mechanical Engineer, I served as a school governor for 15 years and have a keen interest in preserving the culture and heritage of the village and surrounding Parish.

I was a key member for the Parish Council in the development of the Neighbourhood Plan to ensure the community has a voice in maintaining the character and charm of the village.

Cllr Robert Johnson  (Chairman, 2025-2026)

Having lived in Cotherstone with my wife and family for 26 years, I've become passionate about the village and its surrounding area. I was married in the village, my children attended Cotherstone School and I really can't imagine living anywhere else.

Come rain or shine, I can be seen locally walking my two family dogs and love chatting and catching up with residents and visitors alike. When not working or in the village, I will be pursuing my sporting passions of cricket in the summer and football in winter.

As an active supporter of community groups and local businesses, it’s a privilege to be a Cotherstone Parish Councillor.

I am keen to see growth and progression in the area whilst helping to protect and maintain its traditional heritage and beauty.

I have lived in Cotherstone most of my life and have been a Parish Councillor for nearly 30 years. Before that I was Clerk to the Council and Cotherstone/Lartington Burial Board. During that time the Cemetery was extended and the Parish Council took over the running of it.

I am also Chairman of Cotherstone Village Hall and until 2019 was on the Fun Weekend committee.

I have the interests of the village and community very much in my heart. I feel we are so lucky to have a village school, play park, 2 pubs, a village hall and community cafe; these all help to keep our village so vibrant.
